Chapter 51

Author's Preface

"No, I have to focus. I'll leave this for later," Lyssandra muttered, quickly turning her head away from the lewd memory.

She had other, more urgent matters to finish before getting lost in the beast's primal sex. She kept moving through the stream of memory, eyes scanning rapidly the shifting scenes. Exactly as she had thought, the monitors grew brighter and clearer the further she went back the flow.

"Let me see… this is when it was talking to me." Lyssandra paused, noticing a reflection of herself on a screen and giggled softly at the sight.

"Oh, I looked sexy even when covered in blood," she whispered, admiring the way the crimson stained her bodysuit.

The big bulge in her stomach wiggled with a restless movement, a sign of the giant phallus growing inside her womb reacting to the excitement.

She then followed the information flow forward again, stepping back through the timeline from the dark, blurry screens where the wolf had been unconscious. The footage sharpened when it reached the moment the one-sided massacre erupted inside the valley. The Alpha lightning wolf commanded its troops with a furious howl, yellow lightning patterns glowing ominously as they marched into the trap.

The view shifted rapidly to show the chaotic dash of wolves weaving between the dense foliage of the jungle. Finally, the scene settled on a clear area next to a dark cave where the wolf pack likely occupied their territory.

"How long has she been closing her eyes?" Luna wondered, tilting her translucent head, confusion and amusement mingling in her expression.

"It was just a few minutes, be patient," Morgana replied, her gaze fixed on Lyssandra and the wolf, their breaths synchronized in a deep slumber.

poke.

Luna, growing bored because of the silence, used her gelatinous finger to gently prod Lyssandra's cheek.

"Ah, Master looks so cute when she isn't always so angry." The slime whispered to herself, possessiveness sweetening her voice.

"I hope she stays like this forever… so I can have her all for myself." She slowly inched closer, standing behind Lyssandra until her hands were cupping the huge breasts, giving them a light grope through the fabric.

"I miss this feeling. Her tits are awesome," she cooed, savoring the warmth radiating from the woman.

Her fingers slipped under the bodysuit, finding the hardened nipples to pinch and roll between her slick digits.

"Her essence tastes so sweet and yummy…" Luna murmured, her saliva already dripping from her chin while gulping at the thought. "I wonder what her milk tastes like."

"I suggest you stop what you are doing," Morgana said gently.

Before Luna could retreat, Lyssandra's eyes snapped open, burning with a sudden, piercing blue light.

"Hmm?" She turned her head to face the slime, a dangerous grin stretching across her lips despite the interruption. "What are you doing pet?,"

"I-It was nothing, I was just checking your heart rate, Master." Luna stammered, quickly backing away into the shadows. "You looked pale… like a dead person."

"Checking my heart beat while flickering my nipples?," Lyssandra scoffed, adjusting her outfit, the bulge on her stomach shifted restlessly once more. "I will punish you later. Anyway, we are done here. Bring half of the army with you to get those captured wolves back to camp. Tell the rest to follow me."

Morgana received the order, her spider legs twitching before spinning into her humanoid form and descending into the valley.

"What did you see, Master?" Luna asked, her voice still laced with fear despite her curiosity.

"Found their lair," Lyssandra announced.

"This was just half of their pack. The rest were mostly females and cubs. We will go there and capture them all."

Lyssandra and her goblin squad trekked deeper into the dense, green jungle, the humid air heavy with the scent of earth and flowers. She glanced at Sparky, eyes narrowing. "You really don't know where the cave of that Alpha wolf was?"

"Master, I really don't know!" Sparky replied, nose still close to the dirt floor to track the faint, metallic scent. "I was originally not from its pack. You killed my previous Alpha wolf before!"

"Make sense." Lyssandra shrugged.

On their way, she noticed a disturbing lack of life, with only timid rabbits darting around. No other creatures were found, not even a rat or bird.

"Everything's gone just like Luna said before, the mana concentration is getting lower and lower. I have to finish this quick, else all will be for naught."

After half an hour, they reached their destination, a jagged opening that looked like a normal cave entrance from the outside. But as soon as they approached, a strong, coppery smell of blood drifted out from the shadows.

Leading the formation were five hobgoblins bearing heavy wooden shields. Behind them walked another five armed with long spears, ready to skewer anything that moved. Finally, Lyssandra and Luna brought up the rear, their steps silent.

Suddenly, a vibrating growl could be heard echoing from deep inside the cave, a warning rumble that shook the very ground beneath their feet. Then, a small pup jumped out, its fur bristling and teeth snarling at the intruders.

"Only one?" a hobgoblin at the front line wondered, his grip on his shield tightening.

As if answering his question, an adult lightning wolf stepped out from the darkness, its yellow eyes locking onto the intruders. Another wolf stepped out, then another, revealing a horde of more than twenty wolves including the young pups. They were just growling at the trespassers but not actually attacking yet, a silent standoff.

Lyssandra ordered the squad to stand by, creating a gap in the formation while she stepped ahead to face them. By a flick of her wrist, she tossed out the corpse of the Alpha lightning wolf from her system inventory.

The body fell, splattering mud and dried blood across the dirt floor. The sudden movement scared the pups, making them squeak and scramble behind their mothers.

"Let's make this fast, shall we?" Lyssandra announced. "Listen up! This is your Alpha wolf. I already killed it."

The pack froze instantly.

Dozens of eyes locked onto her, low growls rumbling like distant thunder vibrated. No wolf stepped forward to attack, but none fled either. They were waiting, watching with a mixture of fear and confusion.

'Good, that means they are scared enough to listen.' She planted her heel firmly onto the carcass and raised her empty hands in challenge. "I didn't come here to wipe you out. If I wanted that, I wouldn't be standing alone."

A larger wolf stepped forward, scarred and broad-shouldered with a lip curled to reveal long, yellowed fangs. It was a Beta, judging by the way the others subtly shifted behind the beast.

"You expect us to follow you?" the voice came out low, almost human despite the guttural snarl beneath it.

"I expect nothing," she replied coolly, her arms crossing. "But I know what you need. You lost your Alpha. Which means one of two things happens next. You tear each other apart fighting for dominance… or another pack comes in and finishes the job while you are weak."

Silence fell over the clearing.

Lyssandra stepped closer, heels pressing into the blood-soaked ground whilst she closed the distance between predator and prey. The Beta tensed, muscles coiling like springs, but it did not attack.

"I killed him because he was leading you to ruin," she said, her voice dropping to a dangerous whisper resonated with power. "You know it. You have been starving. Pushed too close to goblins and other monster territory. Losing more of your own every month."

A flicker in the Beta's eyes confirmed she had hit the truth hard.

"I don't want a broken pack. I want a strong one."

The creature let out a harsh breath, its chest heaving as it weighed her words.

"And you think that is you?" the wolf grunted, suspicion coloring its tone.

She met the stare head-on, her gaze shining against the darkness of the damp cave. "I know it is."

For a long moment, nothing moved. The air was filled by tension and the heavy scent of dried blood.

Then, one wolf, smaller and younger than the others, stepped out from the shadows to lower its head in submission.

Another followed the gesture.

A third did the same.

The Beta's growl deepened, sounding uncertain now when it was caught between instinct and the shifting will of the pack. Its gaze darted to the fallen Alpha corpse, then back to her imposing figure.

"You are not one of us," it said, its voice full of doubt.

"No," she agreed, letting the word hang in the air.

"I am worse!"

"I am the one who ended your leader and lived. If strength is what you follow… then you already know your answer."

Slowly, the Beta lowered its head, submitting to the overwhelming pressure of her dominance. The rest of the pack followed suit, a sea of fur and fangs bowing to their new Queen.
