‘ There was, of famous royal blood,
A most beautiful maid .’
I was born beyond human worlds, endless, my mother was the sea, and my father was the heavens. A God, I was uncaring for the feeble, ephemeral human lives. They lived and died in the blink of my eye; their lives were ruled by fate. Whereas I was undying, a deity, they worshiped my mother, they worshiped my father, but few worshiped me.
I am the lord of night, that which they feared. They feared the secrets hiding in the dark, the unknown, the unseen, the creatures that crept in my shadows.
Still, every night, I’ll light up the sky with stars that luminated and brought luck in their short lives.
Then, one eve, in the infinite ones I exist, she called my name.
‘Oh Lucifer, Lucifer lord of the stars, lord of the night, descend upon my human soul your blessings and your light. I want to fly, give me the wings of the great owl, so I might roam your dark sky. I crave adventure and I crave love, although my parents designed something else.’
Every night, she’ll look upon the stars and wish to be free, to give up her duties. She was a very beautiful maiden, with hair long and golden like the light of the stars, blue eyes like the sea, a princess in the greatest Kingdom. She was protected, loved, a great destiny awaited her, heir of a highmost realm, she was to become Queen, to rule over peasants and lords.
But in her heart, she longed to be a simple human, to roam the world free, to live and learn, to work the ground and die.
