Part Two
In a highly advanced city, Commander Jack sat in his office while a woman stood before him, rebuking him for letting Lizzy and Rio escape. Jack smiled coldly and said:
"There is no need to worry. I placed a tracking device on them before they left. Thanks to it, we discovered the location of another half-mutant named Lloyd. Now, you can relax."
The woman left, annoyed by Jack's words; she considered him negligent despite his high-ranking position in the Nova organization. We learn that her name is Susan.
On her way, Susan met the Nova known as B-Zero, who is said to be the strongest Nova of all. Zero paused for a moment and said to her:
"The directors want to see you."
Susan went to the directors' office and found them assembled. She asked:
"Why have you summoned me?"
One of them replied:
"Because of the escape of the experiments and your failure to contain them. Fortunately, Commander Jack was able to find two of them. We want an explanation from you, Deputy Susan."
She replied sharply:
"This is because of your negligence and your failure to support us fully. In fact, you have made the experiments hate you."
Some of the directors looked at her with contempt, but they could do nothing, as she is very important to the institution.
Susan left the administration room to meet her assistant, who said:
"I know you allowed the experiments to escape."
She answered coldly:
"It doesn't matter. My main goal is to topple the current administration and become the future director of this new world."
Elsewhere, Rio and Lizzy were walking in search of Lizzy’s friends. They arrived at a ruined city, where they heard a strange sound. Lizzy felt afraid, so Rio said to her:
"How can you be afraid when you are capable of transforming into a half-mutant?"
Lizzy said shyly:
"I forget that sometimes."
Rio was frustrated by her words, but he followed the sound with her. When they arrived, they were surprised to find an injured man. Rio tried to help him and asked what happened. The man said:
"I am from a sect that sanctifies and respects mutants. But I committed a mistake, and I had to be punished."
Rio was shocked by the stupidity of these people and told Lizzy they must leave. But the man interrupted them and asked Lizzy for her name. She introduced herself, and the man trembled, saying:
"You are one of our rulers!"
Lizzy and Rio were shocked by his words. The man explained that in their sect, there is another person who can transform like her. Lizzy decided to go with him, but the man told them he was exiled and could not enter the sect; he would only guide them before his death.
Indeed, they reached the sect's location and saw a massive crowd of people surrounding a boy wearing glasses. Lizzy recognized him immediately and shouted his name:
"Mark!"
The boy turned and jumped through the crowd to hug her, saying:
"We haven't met in a long time."
The sect members were shocked to see their "ruler" talking to humans, but they discovered that Lizzy was also a ruler. They welcomed her warmly and offered her the best food and drink. As for Rio, they gave him dry food and contaminated water, which annoyed him greatly.
Mark sat with Lizzy, asking her about the others. She said she found Lloyd but hadn't found the rest. Then she asked him how he got here.
Mark said:
"I was using my ability to move the rocks that were blocking our path, and suddenly I found these people gathering around me and worshipping me."
Then he turned to Rio and asked who he was. Lizzy said:
"He is my friend who helped me find Lloyd."
Mark thanked Rio and introduced himself:
"I am a Super-class mutant. I can move any non-living object remotely, no matter its size, but I cannot use this ability often."
Lizzy and Rio stayed with Mark for a few days in the sect.
A hundred years later, in a place outside the universe, two mysterious beings were talking about their attempt to find a time portal. The first said:
"If you can guide me to one of those portals, I would be grateful."
The second replied:
"I have already found it, but there is a powerful guardian protecting it. We will head there later."
After the first one left, some other beings asked the second:
"Why does he want to go back to the past?"
The second said:
"Because a catastrophe happened in the universe."
Then he showed them images of hundreds of galaxies before the catastrophe, and images after it, where they had all turned into masses of living flesh, and all forms of life had ended. He added:
"The catastrophe started from planet Earth."
Returning to the present, Rio and Lizzy were talking with Mark. Suddenly, they heard the screams of the sect. They rushed out, only to be surprised by a large number of mutants inside the place. One of them appeared behind them, but he didn't kill them; instead, he tied them up. Then another said:
"Our leader is not here right now, but he will come soon. We are here to judge you, traitors. Why are you protecting humans?"
Rio understood they meant Mark and Lizzy. One of the mutants announced he was the right hand of their leader and would pass judgment on them:
"Your fate is destruction."
Before he could carry out the sentence, they heard the sound of a plane, and Commander Jack descended from it. The mutants were surprised, thinking he was an ordinary human, so they attacked him. But he drew his spear and killed many of them, showing shocking strength.
Jack laughed and said to Rio and Lizzy:
"What a coincidence to find you here. I will kill all the mutants."
He then grabbed Lizzy and Mark. However, the right hand of the mutant leader blocked his path and attacked him fiercely. A violent fight broke out between them.
At that moment, thousands of mutants arrived, and a support squad for Jack descended from the helicopter. Rio took advantage of the chaos, untied himself, Lizzy, and Mark, and tried to escape. But more Nova leaders appeared, and a bloody battle began between them and the mutants.
One of the mutants, from the "Manipulator" class, made the ground slippery and managed to flee after seeing the power of the Nova. In the midst of this, Jack's weapon fell into Rio's hands. Suddenly, the spear began to work for him, which shocked Jack, because these weapons can only be used by the Nova.
Rio threw the spear with devastating force, wiping out most of the mutants. Jack quickly recovered his weapon before Rio could take it again and said to him in astonishment:
"You are very talented; your talent should not be wasted in these places."
But Rio ignored him, took Lizzy and Mark, and fled.
In another place nearby, the mutant leader arrived. Zero blocked his path. The monster leader said to him:
"I admire your courage, but you must die. I am of the Super-class; I control gravity and create immense pressure."
But Zero was unaffected and said coldly:
"I have heard this many times from mutants before you… and none of them survived."
Then he swung his sword, cutting through the entire area, and the leader vanished from existence.
The Nova returned to headquarters victorious. Jack said to Zero:
"I found someone very talented, but he is a bit stubborn."
Upon arriving at the protected city, they were surprised by a massive campaign to topple the current administration. Zero realized that the one who did this was Susan, who had succeeded in turning the people against the administration after stealing documents proving the brutal experiments on humans. Thus, she overthrew the administration and became the new director.
Elsewhere, Rio, Lizzy, and Mark were heading to the city of Anos. Lizzy said:
"We must find the others there."
Night fell, and Lizzy went to sleep, while Rio and Mark remained awake. Mark asked Rio about his past, and he said:
"It’s a short story. I lived with my father, mother, and two sisters, and I had a close friend. But when the virus spread, my family died, and my friend turned into a mutant."
Then Rio asked him about his past. Mark said:
"Lizzy, I, and the rest of the half-mutants lived in the Nova city. They offered for us to undergo some experiments in exchange for living in the city of the wealthy. But that was a lie. There were hundreds of people, and only five of us survived. We were tortured until we almost lost our minds. Lizzy suffered psychological trauma, but Lloyd saved us and helped us escape. After that, we were separated by mistake."
Mark felt sleepy and fell asleep. The next day, they reached the city of Anos, which was destroyed like the others. Upon entering, a rope wrapped around Rio and threw him away. Two people appeared before him. Rio tried to tell them he was Lizzy's friend, but they didn't listen.
Lizzy and Mark searched for him. Mark said:
"This rope looks very familiar… it might be the rope of one of our friends."
Lizzy jumped after partially transforming and saw Rio escaping. She caught up to him and saved him. The two people were shocked to see her, then rejoiced greatly. Lizzy introduced Rio to them: the first is named Zac, and the second is Nia.
Thus, the friends were reunited. Lizzy said:
"We must go to Lloyd to be safe."
But Rio refused:
"I will not go with you. I have something else to do."
Lizzy was saddened by his decision but said goodbye to him. During the farewell, a strange creature appeared behind her. Rio tried to warn her, but the creature delivered a powerful punch that sent her flying and knocked her unconscious. Mark, Nia, and Zac tried to fight it, but it broke their bones and they were knocked out as well.
Rio remained alone; he fired at it, but time suddenly froze, and he could not move. The creature approached him, cut his stomach, and broke both of his hands. He lost consciousness.
After the creature left, a private Nova plane came and took them all.
