The Sky Observer: Part One
The story begins in a city where people lived their daily lives normally. Suddenly, a strange entity appeared in the sky, and everyone began watching it from afar. As soon as that being touched the ground, all the city's inhabitants turned into monsters. Destruction spread across the world due to the negligence of the great powers.
However, some humans decided to create supernatural weapons to face the danger. The problem was that these weapons could not be used by ordinary people, but only by chosen individuals they called "Nova."
After the appearance of the Nova, humans decided to study the virus that turns people into monsters. They discovered there was no specific path for its spread; an infected person doesn't necessarily turn through a bite, as many transformed for no apparent reason. The Nova then tried to reach the source of the virus: that strange being they named the "Sky Observer." It looked human-like but was a giant, its body composed of rotting, burnt flesh. They fired a nuclear missile at it, but it was unaffected. They decided to leave it alone, fearing it would destroy them if provoked.
Over time, more infected appeared, and they were divided into two categories and three types:
The Categories:
The Savages: In this state, the infected loses their humanity and becomes like an animal that devours humans.
The Sentients: In this case, the infected retains their humanity and intelligence but loses memory of their past life. They see themselves as superior beings to humans and believe they must kill them.
The Types:
The Physical Type: Possesses immense physical strength or transforms parts of their body into weapons.
The Supernatural Type: Possesses powers such as firing lasers, flying, or teleportation.
The Manipulator Type: Can manipulate reality and logic itself.
Four years later, we see the hero of this story: a young man named Rio, twenty-two years old, wearing the attire of a plague doctor. No one knows his true features. His only goal is to survive in this ruined world. We see him walking among the debris of a destroyed city, but he notices a face stuck in a wall. Rio knows it is one of the mutants. Rio begins firing randomly, which angers the mutant; it sprouts tentacles and attacks him. Rio starts to flee, followed by the mutant. Rio shouts loudly that his weapon has run out of ammunition. The mutant hears this, seizes the opportunity, and attacks. But this was a trap, as Rio was hiding a small pistol in his pocket. He shoots the mutant in the head and kills it, then continues on his way.
After an hour of walking, Rio feels he is being watched. He runs at full speed, looks back, and sees a girl who looks strange. He stops and asks who she is. The girl reveals herself and says her name is Lizzie. Rio notices her strange appearance and suspects she is a disguised mutant. The girl interrupts his thoughts and asks where she can find a city named Anos. Rio ignores the question and asks, "Why were you watching me?" Lizzie says his outfit was strange and she thought he was a mutant. He ignores the matter, tells Lizzie the location of the city, and leaves. Lizzie asks Rio to go together, but Rio refuses, saying he likes to travel alone. Lizzie touches Rio's mask. Rio gets annoyed, but before he can say anything, the ground beneath him shakes. Suddenly, a mutant emerges and is about to kill Rio, but the mutant's hand is cut off. Rio is shocked by what happened, but even more shocked to see that Lizzie’s hand has transformed into a mutant’s hand. He fires at the mutant's head and tries to kill Lizzie, but she stops him, saying she is not a mutant. Rio is not convinced. Lizzie says she cannot transform fully; only her hand can. Rio asks, "How is this possible?" Lizzie says she was part of human experiments, but the scientists no longer wanted her. Rio says, "So they disposed of you?" Lizzie says she isn't the only one and that she has friends, but they were separated because of some mutants. She says they agreed to meet in the city of Anos. Rio says, "Even so, I won't go with you." She was insistent on going with him, and eventually, Rio agreed. But he asked her, "Is there anyone trying to hunt you down?" She said, "No."
The journey began for three days. On their way, Rio felt someone was stalking them. Suddenly, out of nowhere, a group of armed soldiers appeared. With them was a man holding a spear who looked strange. Rio asked, "Who are you and what do you want?" The leader stepped forward and said, "I am Jack, one of the Nova. We only want this girl." Rio says to Lizzie, "Didn't you say no one wants you?" Lizzie says that if she had said so, he wouldn't have gone with her. Rio looks at Jack and says, "If I hand Lizzie over, will you take me to one of the protected cities?" Jack says his orders prevent that, but if they hand over the girl, they will leave him alone. Rio thinks for a moment, then grabs his pistol and shoots Lizzie! He says to Jack, "If you don't stay away from me, the second bullet will be in her head." Jack takes the team, boards a helicopter, and leaves. A soldier asks Jack, "You were able to kill him in the blink of an eye, why didn't you?" Jack said, "If I did that, the chase would be boring. Besides, I placed a tracking device on them without them noticing."
Later, we see Rio and Lizzie, who asks why he shot her. He said, "I'll give you two reasons: 1. Because you lied to me. 2. I noticed you are a Physical Type mutant; you can heal yourself in one day, unlike humans." Although their path was blocked and they faced problems, they continued through the forest. As they walked, they reached a giant field, and in the middle of the field, there was a nearby city that seemed inhabited. They decided to go to the city. While walking, they felt the earth shake, and suddenly a mutant in the shape of a whale with two legs emerged. From the whale's back, "flesh missiles" with smiling faces came out. Rio and Lizzie began to run and dodge the missiles. Suddenly, Rio hears someone calling them and sees they are humans. Rio and Lizzie go toward the humans. Suddenly, the whale stops the attack and returns to its place. Rio thanks these people and goes with them to the city. Rio is shocked that this city has not fallen and the people in it live normal lives. Rio and Lizzie go with these people to their leader, named Nark. Nark welcomes Lizzie because he knows who she is. Lizzie is shocked. Nark tells her there is someone like her who can turn into a mutant. Lizzie is happy to hear this and asks for the person's name. Nark says his name is Lloyd. Lizzie says she knows him and asks where he is. Nark says he is on a mission outside the city but will return today. Lizzie gets excited and tells Rio to stay here until Lloyd returns. Rio agrees but is surprised when Nark's followers take his weapons. Rio gets angry, but Nark says that non-enlisted people are prohibited from using weapons; he must wait until he allows it or until Lloyd returns. Rio agrees.
In another place, some mutants were watching Rio and Lizzie and discovered the way into the city. The first mutant says, "Because of that whale, we couldn't enter the city, but now that we know the path the humans take, we can enter." He directs his words to two other mutants with him, saying they will attack tonight. Hours later at night, Rio was sleeping inside one of the houses. Suddenly, he heard the sound of an explosion and rushed out to see what happened. He was shocked by the entry of many mutants. He headed to Lizzie and Leader Nark and told them about the intrusion. The leader was surprised and ordered the soldiers to defend. A massacre began inside the city. Rio went to the weapons warehouse, taking advantage of the chaos outside, and recovered his weapons. He took some grenades and went out, but was attacked by one of the mutants. That mutant said, "I am happy because you revealed the path to us." Rio was shocked that the mutant could speak. The mutant began attacking Rio. Rio started dodging and firing at the mutant, but the mutant turned its back into sharp thorns and rolled toward Rio, injuring him seriously. However, Rio managed to stand up and continue the fight. He managed to trick the mutant into an open area, fired at it, and successfully killed it.
Meanwhile, where Lizzie was, there were a large number of mutants. She and the soldiers struggled to kill them. Suddenly, the leader of the mutants appeared, killed many soldiers, and deeply wounded Lizzie. The mutant leader has the ability to control blood, using it as sharp weapons, and is of the Physical Type. The mutant leader says that mutants like Lizzie trying to protect humans is a great betrayal. He prepares to deliver a fatal blow to Lizzie, but before he can, he is attacked by a mysterious person. The mysterious person turns out to be Lloyd. Lloyd is happy to see Lizzie. Lloyd tells Lizzie to hide while he fights the mutant leader, and they will talk later. Lizzie goes to a hiding place. The fight begins between Lloyd and the mutant leader. Lloyd was different from Lizzie; he could transform completely. The mutant leader gets excited and attacks Lloyd using a giant scythe made of blood. Lloyd dodges and responds with a powerful attack. Lloyd is of the Physical Type and possesses immense physical strength; his attack broke the mutant leader's bones. However, the mutant leader stands up again and attacks Lloyd, wounding him slightly, and is shocked by the toughness of Lloyd's body. Lloyd then destroys the mutant leader's head. At this moment, reinforcements arrive at the city and annihilate the mutants. In the end, all the mutants died, but the losses were huge, with many human casualties.
The next morning, Lizzie wakes up and sees Rio talking to Lloyd. Lizzie stands up quickly and tells Lloyd she had been looking for him and the others for a long time. She asks, "Where are the others?" Lloyd says he hasn't found them yet but is still searching. Lizzie understands the situation and suggests they go to the city of Anos, where they were supposed to meet. Initially, Lloyd refuses because Lizzie cannot fight or search well, but he says he will think and answer them in a week. Lizzie decided to train with Rio to gain Lloyd's approval. After a long week of training, Lizzie managed to master a near-complete transformation and became stronger than before. Lizzie then went to Lloyd and said she was ready. Lloyd tells her it is still too early, but Lizzie insists on her decision. Lloyd smiles and agrees. Lizzie takes Rio with her. Rio asks her, "Is no one else coming with us?" Lizzie says, "Of course not." Rio is shocked by this, but he goes anyway.
