Chapter 15.2 -- Before the meeting (Part 2)
Raven’s Nest Dining Hall, 2nd Kitchen Building, Fort Drum, New York, USA, 12 December 2020, 0808 hrs
Later, on a large dining table…
“The menu for today’s breakfast looked good today, Sally,” Aiden says as he looks at the plate of two cooked grey-lit pork sausages, an egg omelette and a piece of burger-like bun filled with peanut butter and strawberry jam. “It is.” Sally agrees before pouring the glass of human blood into her mouth. “Our commanding officer always ensured we had top-quality and nutritional standards for every food we ate. Unlike other units, we had an extra glass of fruit juice.” .
Sally pauses as she turns to look at the helpless, zombie-looking Kodey. “But too bad for our human prisoner, he will never have the nutritious breakfast we had. For him, I planned to give him a burger-like bun filled with peanut butter and have him drink a glass of fresh milk. That’s what humans like him need so he can replenish his blood faster, and I can suck him again for future blood meals. Also, he couldn’t move a single muscle to eat his breakfast thanks to my venom’s paralytic effects. He can only eat when I control his movements to do so,” Sally mocks Kodey with evil laughter.
“You might wanna let him eat, or he will starve. We don’t want to get into trouble with Brigadier General Rico later when he sees this human looks so weak.” Aiden tells her.
“Don’t worry. He will get to eat his breakfast.” Sally smiles before opening her mouth to eat a piece of the grey-lit pork sausage. “But first, I want to inflict pain and misery on that pathetic human. Humans like him don’t deserve any basic rights in our world, and I want to make him pay for the death of Sergeant Hass.” .
“Sally. I know you have feelings for Antoine,” Aiden expresses his sympathy for Sally before reminding her with the following words. “But remember, do not show your human emotions to others on this military base. You are a Raven Young Templar, just like us, and we must not display any human emotions, such as rage and angry tears, when dealing with human prisoners. I don’t want to see you getting taken away by the medical staff just because someone sees you showing human emotions. Please remember this.” .
After hearing his words, the Raven Young Templar lady stays silent before continuing to eat her food. From her viewpoint, she has feelings for the late Sergeant Antoine Hass. However, she can’t display them on the military base of the Ravens, as it is against the unit’s policy to start romantic relationships in camp. If caught, higher-up Raven officers will not hesitate to remove both of them from the team and send them straight to the medical centre for re-evaluation. Even her section superior can’t save them if that happens.
“Sally, are you alright? Is something occupying your mind?” Aiden asks after seeing her eating her food quietly.
“I’m fine, and thank you, Aiden,” Sally replied.
After finishing their breakfast meal…
“Hey, loser scum! Time for you to swallow your damn food.” Sally looks at Kodey before using a hand movement to force Kodey’s hand in grabbing the burger bun.
‘Hell no! Not this damn bread again!’ Kodey curses mentally as he tries to resist, but to no avail. His body is not cooperating with him, and he can only watch as his hand holding the food heads towards his mouth before chewing it. To him, he had been eating this same old burger bun filled with peanut butter for weeks, and he felt sick of it. He wished he could get the same type of breakfast meal as the Raven Young Templars had.
“How do you find eating the same food all over again? I bet you loved it.” Sally mocks Kodey sarcastically before directing him to drink the glass of milk through a hand movement. “Now drink up, you pile of shit.” .
While drinking the milk, Kodey looked forward to the day when Young Templars like Sally get the same abusive treatment for mistreating human prisoners.

Later at the medical centre…
“What’s bringing you here today, Sergeant Flannery?” An unnamed Tri-Sixer medical doctor asks her.
“Thank you for letting me see you today, doctor,” Sally speaks with a friendly smile. “Today, I bit a human prisoner for a blood meal, and he is now paralysed because of my venom injected into his bloodstream. However, I need an antidote to unfreeze him since the commanding officer of the Ravens wants to speak to him soon.” .
After hearing her words, the unnamed Tri-Sixer medical doctor types words on his monitor screen before turning his face towards her. “This is the fifth time I’m hearing that your venom has paralysed humans after sucking their blood, Sergeant Flannery. You should know it’s difficult to request antidote supplies to treat the strain of your venom from the regional research base since they only produce sixty vials of it per month. Plus, we only have five vials of the antidote left in our inventory storage, so I can only dispense two for you. So please control yourself and stop biting human prisoners.” .
“Got it, doctor.” Sally acknowledges before asking him with a request. “However, is it possible to put a muzzle on the human prisoner? I firmly believe he will resist or potentially fight back against us after injecting him with the antidote.” .
“Alright. I will send a memo to the medics from the triage section instructing them to put a muzzle on the human prisoner, so please head down to the triage section after this.” The unnamed Tri-Sixer medical doctor informs her. “If there’s nothing else left, I want you to deliver this letter to the commanding officer of the Ravens. He needs to read it. That’s all, and you are free to go.” .
“Thank you, doctor.” Sally says as she accepts the letter labelled Top Secret from the doctor before pushing Kodey’s wheelchair out of the room.

“Aiden, you need to inject the antidote into Mr Zander before our CO (Commanding Officer) wants to speak to him. I need to pass this letter to him first, while you inject the human prisoner with the antidote before I call both of you into the room,” Sally tells Aiden before asking him a question. “Do you know which area of the human body to administer the antidote?”
“Yes. I had used this before, so I knew how to do it. Relax and go, Sally,” Aiden informs her.
The Raven Young Templar lady nods in acknowledgement before gently knocking on the door and then opening it upon hearing Brigadier General Rico’s voice ordering her to enter his office.
Upon entering…
“State your rank, name, and unit, Raven,” Bettino says.
Upon hearing those words, the Raven Young Templar lady nods and states who she is: “Good afternoon, sir. I’m Sergeant Sally Flannery of Section 10-A.” .
“Ah, the top sniper of the Ravens. What’s your purpose in visiting me, Sergeant Flannery?” Bettino asks in a firm voice.
“Lieutenant Blair sent us to deliver the human prisoner as per your request.” Sally begins. “Also, there’s a letter meant for you from the medical centre.” .
“Let me see it, Sergeant,” Bettino ordered her to pass him the letter.
After opening the letter…
‘It’s so over for him.’ An amused Bettino thought as he read through the letter’s contents. ‘We have fully secured our highly sought-after asset, and we will unlock its abilities to their full potential. Might as well inform our great leader about this great news.’ .
“Thank you for the letter, Sergeant Flannery.” Bettino expresses his gratitude before refolding the letter and returning it to the envelope. “Now, bring in the human prisoner. I would like to have a chat with him.” .
“On it, sir,” Sally replies before heading towards the door to call both of them in.
As the Raven Young Templar brings in the restrained Kodey into the room, a smile appears on Brigadier General Rico’s face. “Finally. We get to see each other, son of Daniel Zander. I’m certain you have questions about how I know your father. However, I would like to speak to you first, Kodey.” .
