Shit, I thought as I looked at Bea's body, laying lifeless on her living room's sofa. "Babe, call 911," I said. "Hurry."
"I already am," I heard Zen say. I walked closer to Bea's body and kneeled in front of her. One of her hands was holding a letter while the other was holding an empty orange bottle. What? I thought. Bea takes meds? Since when?
" The police and ambulance are on their way," I heard Zen say. "I can't believe this. Bea's dead?"
"Me too," I say. "We just saw her last week. This can't be her." I heard shuffling from the front door northwest of me.
"Bea," I heard someone say. "I'm coming in, the door was o-" I looked up and saw Snow.
"Why are you looking at me like that?" she asked. She slowly walked toward me.
"Bea!" she exclaimed. She kneeled down beside me. She tried to touch Bea's body but was unable to.
"No, no, no, no," she said. Tears started to fall down her eyes. I hugged her.
"It's going to be okay," I said. "We're going to know what happened to her soon." I heard more shuffling from the front door. I looked towards it and watched as our friends come in one by one and filled the lobby behind the sofa.
"Dos, Zen, are ready to party?" Maine said as she went in. "Why is she crying?"
"Bea's dead," Zen said. Their faces slowly dropped as well as the things they brought.
"Is she-" Maine asked as she walked closer to the sofa. "Fuck!" She turned away and fell to the floor. She started to sniffle. Oceanna and Asterion got into deep thought. Flounder fell to the floor and started weeping while Virginia comforted them. Robin sat on the floor and started rocking himself back and forth. Rammie froze standing. Asterion walked closer to Zen.
"What happened? " Scorpius said.
"We don't know yet," Zen answered.
"From the looks of it," Scorpius said. "She killed herself."
"No," Snow said. "The Bea we know would never do that!" More tears started to flow through her eyes.
"Calm down," Scorpius said. "Its just based on what I'm seeing."
"But you know more than that," Snow said. I started patting her head.
"Who did this to her?" I heard some say. Shit, I thought. I turned towards the voice.
"Rammie, calm down," Zen said as Rammie started to pace around the living room. "We don't even know how she died yet."
"We have a theory though that she-" Scorpius said.
"Don't say another word Scorpius," Snow said. Asterion put their hands up and did a zipping action to their mouth.
"Helen's not here," I heard someone say. I looked towards them and saw it was Asterion. They're right, I thought. Where is Helen?
"So Helen killed her and ran away?" Rammie said.
"No, Helen loves Bea," Snow said. "She couldn't have done that."
"Snow's right," Oceanna said. "But where is she?"
"Maybe she got something and is on their way back now?" Virginia said while still patting Flounder's back, at the staircase.
"Are we all forgetting that Bea is holding a suicide note?" Asterion said.
"Suicide note?" Maine said. She stood up from behind the sofa and quickly reached for the suicide note on Bea's right hand.
"Maine!" Virginia said. "You're not allowed to disturb a crime scene."
"This isn't a crime scene yet," Maine said as she opened up the letter. What the fuck is Maine thinking? I thought.
"This is your fault Scorpius," Virginia said.
"Me?" Scorpius said. "I didn't tell her to grab and read the letter."
"What does the letter say?" Flounder weakly asked. Everyone turned their attention to Maine - Rammie stopped pacing, Robin stopped rocking back and forth, Snow and Flounder wiped their tears.
" Hi Friends ," Maine started to read. " I know that my suicide will be a shock to all of you because I've always talked against it. I'm sorry I'm being a hypocrite right now or well was a hypocrite since by the time you're reading this letter I'll be dead. I'm sorry for ruining what was supposed to be a fun filled night celebrating my new comeback but I couldn't take it anymore. I've never talked to you guys about it but there was so much pressure from the company for me to keep succeeding because I was the only one keeping us a float. Thank you for all your support so far and I hope you accept my death quickly so that your lives can move forward - the sooner the better. I love you all. Sincerely, Your Friend, Bea." The room became silent. What? I thought. If this was true, she was a good actress. I doubt its true though.
"Excuse me," I heard someone say. "Which one of you is Zen?" I looked up and saw two people at the front door. Oh, I thought. The police are here.
"I'm Zen," Zen said.
"Okay," the police officer said. "You reported a dead body?" Zen pointed to the couch. The police officer walked towards it and peeked. They looked at me then at Zen then at my friends.
"Is that-?" he asked but stopped theirself. Here we go, I thought.
"Bea," Zen said.
"The soloist?" he asked.
"Yup," Zen said.
"Do you guys have any idea what happened?" he asked.
"No," Zen said. "She was like this we got here."
"I'm sorry for your loss," he said. "She was great idol."
"She was," Zen said.
"Sir," the other police officer said. "That one is holding something in their hand." She pointed to Maine.
"What's that?" he said. Maine pulled her hand back but decided to hand it over to him. He looked quickly scanned the letter.
"A suicide note," he said.
"It was on her hand and I got," Maine said. "Sorry."
"I'll forgive you this time but I have to ask all of you to vacate the house," he said. "This is now a potential crime scene. We still have to verify everything before it is ruled as a suicide. We'll have to talk to you guys one on one for your take on what happened."
"What?" Rammie said. "Are you actually accusing us of killing our friend?"
"No," he said. "This is just protocol. But what if this is confirmed as a murder, you are the potential suspects."
"That's absurd," Rammie said as he walked toward the police officer. "We're her friends. No one here wants to kill her."
"You never know," the other police officer scoffed.
"Lieutenant!" the first police officer said.
"What did you say?" Rammie said.
"Rammie don't," I said.
"Officers, I think your best bet would be to look for Helen," Scorpius said. What's he plotting? I thought.
"Scorpius!" Snow said. "Stop!"
"What?" Scorpius said. "I'm just trying-"
"You have no right," Snow said. "You know what this will do to her image. Just let her fans remember how she is right now."
"Oh come on-" Scorpius said.
"Okay," the first police officer said. "Everyone out." He waved his hand towards the door. I felt the silent sigh.
"Let's go Snow," I whispered. She nodded and we slowly stood up. I put my right hand around her back to hold her hand. My friends got out of the house one by one. A hand grabbed my left hand. Zen, I thought.
"We'll get through this," he said. I nodded. We walked towards the door. I looked back to Bea's lifeless body on the sofa. We walked out the door assisting Snow. This is not happening, I thought. That can't be Bea. It just can't.
