At some point, waiting for him outside of the ‘Employees Only’ door, his aroma returned to her nostrils. It tickled her nose then warmed her very center. When she inhaled further, it was like a fix she couldn’t shake off. But it begs a horrible question. How did he hide his scent?
It now made sense how he had been hiding in plain sight, how she never found him sooner. It was like he purposely shrouded his scent. Was it magic from earlier on? She believed it more and more every minute that passed. But why would he purposely shroud his scent?
It was hard to decipher, even when he poked his head from the other side of the door, and she still couldn’t figure it out. That suggestive smile when his purplish eyes laid on her for the first time in a few minutes hid the secrets she wanted to unveil. Leas started teasing how he hadn’t felt this ill prepared after a kiss in a long time.
There is no way a man full of flirtatious energy has kept himself away from relationships that long. She thought about that Arabian ex-boyfriend and geared up her annoyance. She was ready to call him a liar, only because he was still hiding a bigger secret than his sexual preference, a secret that either made her run to the hills or maybe finally be brave enough to open to him.
Will that day ever come? Her thoughts feverishly swirled about the unreal potential of finding someone that was not a werewolf who would openly accept her. Maybe if he had his weird magic ability, he might be more open to her furry side.
That thought was immediately shot to the ground in her mental scape, watching him all this time holding her hand and looking so cheerfully ignorant of her true self. Would she ruin that just because she is craving that kind of companionship? What if what she saw was just her crazy imagination trying to place an unknown aspect of him where he had nothing to hide?
She kept thinking even as they walked out of the concert, even when they walked towards the hotel. The only time she stopped thinking was when she faced the familiar door. ‘217’
He gracefully opened the door and let her in first. She walked right in, hugging herself nervously. She wasn’t sure if she was ready for an intimate moment like sex. Her skin prickled about it, her insides coiled, and her mind ran rampant about what they could do in those beige sheets. The desperation to finally unite under unholy methods is obvious in the way she kissed him. And yet her nervousness escaped from beneath her tan skin, and she turned to Leas, who entered the room, opening her mouth. “Leas...I-”
What are you going to tell him? ’L eas I think you are a wizard and I don’t know if we should have sex right now until I process what the fuck to do with that info. Thanks for understanding!’ Smooth....Nea...so smooth.
“Nea. I need a shower. Would you like to go first?” Glad that he changed the conversation before she could start, she sighed in relief.
“Nah you go first. I’ll wait.”
He beamed at her answer, giddily walking around her just to grab his bag to take it with him to the bathroom. All she could hear was how he dramatically exclaimed, “WOAH THERE ARE A LOT OF MIRRORS!”
She chortled underneath her breath, glad that he didn’t pressure her into anything. Now she is sitting at the edge of the bed, turning on the television just to watch some re-runs of ‘I Love Lucy’ and ‘The Munsters’. After the second half hour, Leas finally got out of the bathroom. Dressed only in his checkered pajama pants, and a towel used to wipe away his drenched blond hair, his chest was completely uncovered. You would think because she already saw him half naked as a wolf that she wouldn’t be ogling, but her ogling is worse now than ever. His skin shined from the slight moisture of his last bath, and she was mesmerized by each tattoo on his arm. It seems to only end up on his shoulder, but when he walks past her, with a bag in hand, she can see more tattoos along his spine. He headed towards the couch to set his stuff down.
By the devilish smile, she could tell that he was purposely showing off even when he said this. “Am I making you uncomfortable?”
WHY EVEN ASK THAT!? You know I have been staring this whole time. She glared right at him, picking up her bag and turning her back to him. “I am going to take a bath! A VERY long one.”
All she heard was him chuckling, which fueled her to do exactly that. She escaped from him, doing exactly as promised. The bath was very nice and warm. The only downside is that there are more mirrors than walls in this bathroom and she could see every unflattering side of her.
Eventually, she will grow too pruny, leaving the tub and shaking off the water just like a wolf to only cuss at her folly when the water lands on the mirrors. This is bound to leave wet stains everywhere.... How am I going to explain this? She took longer to put on her clothes and leave the bathroom only because she had to clean away the water stains from...every mirror.
When done, she slipped out of the bathroom with her hair tucked into a towel to further dry it. She expected Leas to be awake enough to ridicule her for taking too long. Even the words slipped right out of her mouth, “I know I took a long time, but I really zoned out in that bath-”
Her yellow eyes focused on the sleeping form of Leas, he was lying on the couch with arms crossed over his chest and lightly snoozing to the sound of ‘Bewitched’ playing in the background. She glanced from his docile and sweet face down to his naked freckled torso, realizing that he had no blanket.
Feeling incredibly awful at leaving him alone and even worse that he was forced to sleep on a couch that looked too small for him, she went to grab the blanket from the bed. Ripping out the thick comforter and leaving behind the thin sheet just for her. She waddled over to the couch and laid the comforter over his body, making sure every part of him was covered, even his bare feet. He made no sound that he would wake, further sinking into this slumber once he was covered.
Too embarrassingly cute to leave him alone yet.
Her eyes scanned the room until she found the camera sitting next to the TV. She grabbed it, watching him fiddle with it enough to know when to charge it and turn off the flash, then she positioned the lens to aim at him. Looking through the camera to make sure she gets all of him.
Very diabolically quiet, she murmured. “Say....cheese....”
She pressed the button and it clicked to indicate that it went off. He will probably be embarrassed later when he gets the pictures. But for now, she will relish that she caught him off guard like so. A part of her hoped that he may have stayed awake long enough to address some issues. But she is sort of glad that she can wait a moment longer to address it and enjoy the time together, oblivious to the reality of this world. She set the camera down and smiled his way, solemn still. “I am... glad to have spent the little time left with you.”
She really is, because there is only one more date before she can finally cut things off with him. Before she can finally rip her heart in two, because even if she really liked him for who he is she knows that this can’t last. The only thing left is to find out more about his otherworldly nature...
For now, she will sleep, dreaming about a world where she can live so carelessly with him. A world that she could never have.
