Shouldn’t he be the one to explain ? “...some ladies drunkenly talked obscenely. They gave me an idea where you went.”
“Right...” He leaned on the railing again, peering around the curtains to get a better view, but none came, especially when he made a very lazy attempt. He looked around them, making sure that they were truly by themselves. Once clear, he started to speak. “They were just trying to push me to join them at their hotel.”
“Jeez, that’s all?” Her sarcasm inked all over this sentence, swapping it to a more serious tone with a hand gesture that indicated that she was ready to punch someone. “They made you uncomfortable, can I go and tell them off?”
“It’s fine...heh. It wasn’t just them...” He peered downward, probably watching the crowd react to the very popular song. His smile is caked with a plethora of secrets, “Every time I come to these events, I attract a lot of attention...if it wasn’t for my pher-I mean- appearance, then maybe I could enjoy these events in a more normal fashion. Without all the wrong attention....”
Were you about to say something else entirely?! Her booted feet threaded closer to him so there was no way she could misinterpret whatever he said. The screams of the crowd as the song ended deafened her, the couple waited till the next song started to play and they had time to talk over it.
The gap between them shortened, having him bump her shoulder with his broad ones. Even that little contact made her giddy. This close and he found the courage to speak, going from the beginning of his problems. “Many years ago, during my young high school days...I met someone, another teenager who, like me, craved fame and adoration. I went into music, and he was more into theatrics, maybe even becoming an actor. We were a strong combo, leading play and influence playwrights. He was tall, handsome and Arabian with very straight white teeth, odd for someone that lived in the streets. He was a young man that any parent would worry about. He was good at swindling people out of their money. I was always the friendlier of the two, and I never had issues with my finances... I thought our relationship meant something and for a very long time he had me fooled.”
“What...do you mean?” Idonea peered at him, understanding what he was implicating in those words but not wanting to assume. The last thing she wants to do is offend this very nice guy.
“Idonea...I am bisexual so...He and I were in an actual romantic relationship...” He said this awkwardly, rubbing the back of his freckled neck and avoiding eye contact. A man who openly states his sexuality and it doesn’t start with the letter ‘s’ is a man that is asking for a death wish right away around these parts.
Due to that knowledge alone, she gave her surroundings one hard glance, then leaned into his arm, to protect him from harm. Or at least be ready to protect him. It was absurd for humanity to turn sour at such preferences, it wasn’t like it hurt anybody and with lack of contraceptives there were still plenty of offspring to continue the population. Humanity didn’t suffer the issues of her werewolf pack, where to conceive requires the female to be in heat. Humans are strange. “I don’t judge... I am just worried that I can’t compete with a sexy Arab..”
That made him crack a smile, a new genuine smile filled with affection. He ended up wrapping his arm around her just to get closer. “Nothing to worry about at all. Trust me. He could never compare to you. Besides, that relationship may have started strong, but he was never good at being empathic. Beating me down on my appearance or even the way I do anything. What we had soured quickly, and he had moved on with someone else before I could ever even consider it. At first, I thought it was for the best, but since then I have kept myself away from people. Anybody that ever showed any interest in me I would keep at arm’s length. Often, they were only interested in the wrong parts of me. The surface level is what they like...not the real me.”
Listening to his past trauma connected the dots in her head, he didn’t choose the lonely lifestyle for no reason. She blurted out this statement, “Is that why you live all by yourself?”
“Hmm? What about me makes you assume that I live alone?” He didn’t show anything in his posture of his truest feelings, even his voice didn’t influx to hint how he felt about that question. Since she couldn’t smell his mood, she panicked.
Skit....I must pretend that I have never been to his house.
“Um....you would have mentioned it? Am I wrong to assume?” She choked up, turning her face away. He reacted to her avoidance by hugging her closer with one arm. He must have been smiling based on the way he talked.
“I am only teasing, Nea. My distrust is the product of my previous relationship. I will never look for a roommate, but that can always change. Would you like to move in with me tomorrow?”
“You are still teasing me!” Idonea grumbled, feigning to leave his arm, even though every part of her loved the closeness. He felt so warm, so safe. The only thing that unnerved her was that he still didn’t have his aroma back. He only just turned her around to have her back towards the rails and his heavily tattooed arms caging her in one spot. Leas faced her, using one hand to grab the camera that was still slinged around his neck. Looking more excited than sad anymore, he waved the technology before her to try to indicate what he wanted. “Hahaha. Regardless, I still owe you a very embarrassing photo.”
The closing song ends, and Sting was saying a few choice words before the final goodbye. He mentioned something about the IRA and how they are destroying the sanctity of Ireland or whatever. She could give a rat’s ass right now. He forced her out of this reality, the only thing that mattered was him and that camera. Her chest constricted and she fought down the temptation to squeal, only letting out a very quiet, “I...want another photo of us...”
“What?” Leas leaned in, but the smile on his face failed to be convincing. He was very aware of what she had just said. There must be a bigger mischievous side of him that relishes her struggles. This time he wasn’t as polite about it.
“I said that I wanted a picture of us!” Idonea snarled, keeping her face towards the pathway back. Security is bound to come this way.
Leas wasn’t worried at all, leaning close enough to have his cheek against her forehead. His one hand positioned the camera in front of them. It warmed her skin just to touch his and it was tame. Her arms laced together above her breasts, trying to keep herself from touching him too much. She can’t fathom keeping herself from staying civil for long.
The only thing that has been keeping her straight is remembering what she saw. The mysterious glow of his tattoo.
“Get ready!” He said this before planting a long kiss on her temple, the redness colored her features, and she would never be fast enough to recover. The flash and click came on just as she was reacting to the kiss and, once again, she was angry that he took advantage.
“Leas!” She groaned, moving to get away, but his one arm was wrapped around her waist to keep her in his grasp. He looped the camera back around his neck, using his free hand to cup her face.
Leas would smell like lust if he had his musk back by the way he touched her, even the way he studied every inch of her face hinted a lot. He then asked, this time his expression more serious and the smile lost in the seriousness. “I... really want to kiss you now. A real one.”
Her mouth opened to retort, putting her hands on his chest as a weak attempt to keep some distance when, really, she was touching him just to feel his heart beneath the fabric. It beat so steadily, showing his determination. She was weak beneath his touch and speculative scanning, and for a very long time she had fought to keep her distance because of her past experiences. Idonea was very afraid that he’d raise a village once he found out her wolfish nature, she was more afraid to reciprocate these feelings only for their relationship to last as long as his mortal lifespan.
He isn’t human... That thought swirled in her mind negatively, now more afraid that he was some evil wizard that her mother would ramble on about. Then she recalled how kind he had been, how he paid for her every need, how well he treated her wolf self despite being questionably wild. How he opened his past trauma to her and now how he admitted his sexual orientation, showing how much he had started to trust her.
She didn’t know when exactly, but suddenly she didn’t want to stop his affections anymore, even smirking to invite him in. “I would like that.”
That caused the very face and neck of his skin to glow pink, his shock coloring his features briefly, only to be replaced by a broad smile so infectious that she copied him. “I’ve waited for you to say that elskan.”
“Words are words.... better kiss me now before I change my mind!” She threatened only because she couldn’t wait anymore. When he laughed instead of kissing her, she leaned up to him to meet his lips with hers. This sudden action made him muffle the laughter, bewildered that she went for it before he recovered. She’d been craving it for long enough, so his teasing just irritated her.
Boy did he quickly recover. He pressed against her, embracing her against him and nearly crushing his Nikon camera between their bodies. He assisted her on the vertically challenging side, leaning enough and using his arms to keep her from falling back. Their lips smacked together until one of them, she didn’t care who, started to tickle the entrance of the other mouth. Their tongues wrestled with each other, and she could finally taste the product of the sweet aroma. Her nose still couldn’t smell him, which is uncanny, but at least she could taste him. This must be how humans experience a kiss.
Her tail would wag if she was in her wolf form but instead, she kept full control of herself, deepening this crazy kiss by wrapping her arms around his broad shoulders. She felt like she was floating at some point, not realizing that her leg was wrapped around him in a possessive motion in the middle of the kissing. The only time she realized it was how he reciprocated the action by moving his hand towards the bent of her thigh, keeping her hoisted to him. He had to do more work to keep her from falling down. When their fierce kissing had to end due to their lack of oxygen, she noticed her lewd display.
“Be careful.... a kiss might not be enough.”
Her heart pounded against her ribcage when she noticed a certain shape against her, one of notable curvature and hardness. Just as hard as her sensitive points of her body, enough to have her quickly glance down not just to see his obvious hard-on but, checking if her sports bra held up in covering her nipples. “Well, um.... maybe not here when you know...security will find us and put us in jail....”
“Right...” He admitted with a heavy sigh, pouting that they had to end this so soon. Sting must have left the stage since all she heard was people scrambling to leave the area.
He still did not release her, even with the obvious outcome laid out in front of them. Leas planted a trail of kisses from her forehead till he found his way back to her lips. Another equally powerful kiss just to shake her very core, then he set her down motioning her to go first. She thought it was because he would try to hide again, but he reassured her with his next words.
“Don’t worry...I’ll follow right behind you...just...” He pointed downward as to why he wanted to walk behind her. She glanced down foolishly and averted her eyes again. She somehow forgot that it took some time for males to recover. It’s like she was fifty-seven years old again.
“Sorry! I’ll meet you outside the door!”
“I’ll happily watch your rear!”
“PERV”
“HAHA”
