Author's Preface
When they got inside the Palace, they took her to one of the guest rooms away from other guests.
Shirayuki told the others to call Miss Garak to see if she was hurt anywhere. "I'd feel better if she looked at the girl first."
Miss Garak did a thorough check and confirmed she was fine, just unconscious due to exhaustion and stress. "She has dark bags under her eyes and some scars, but they aren't recent."
Ryu gave them a liquid to wake her up for questioning, and along with Miss Garak, they went back to the pharmacy.
Shirayuki waved in under the girl's nose, and she opened her eyes slowly.
She blinked once, then jumped up, scanning their faces. "W-where am I?!"
She groaned and put her hands against her head; it was throbbing terribly. Shirayuki grabbed her shoulders and gently laid her back against the pillow. The girl flinced, but didn't resist. "None of you look like doctors, and you don't have me tied up...why am I here?"
She looked at Obi and tried to sit up again. "Wait, are you waiting till I'm relaxed to cut me open?"
Shirayuki's face filled with anger, and a familiar fear ached in her heart. She shook her head. "What, cut you open? We aren't that type of people; it's okay to calm down."
The rolled away from Shirayuki and shook her head back at her. "No, no, do you know how many people have told me that and have already cut me?!"
