Author's Preface

Where are Oceanna and Snow? I checked my phone to see if they sent something in the group chat but there was still nothing. I leaned back on the sofa. I hope they get here soon. No, no way, it can't be that. " Baby, are you alright?" I felt Zen's hand on my shoulder. I looked to my left and nodded.

"They'll be here soon." Zen leaned in and kissed my forehead.

" Good Evening everybody!" The speaker inside the room suddenly boomed to life. The television in front of us started to show the view of the stage.

"Its starting. We should go." I grabbed Zen's hand. We stood up.

"Finally." I turned to my right and saw Helen stand up slowly, her face solemn inside the hood over her head. The three of us walked out of the room and immediately turned right. Shit. I put my right hand over my left chest. Its so fast. But we have to do this. We continued walking until we reached a three-way intersection. We were about to turn left when-

"Hey guys!" I heard someone say. I turned around and saw that it was Robert.

"Hi Robert." I put my hands behind me and signaled for Helen to hide behind Zen.

"Where are the three of you going?" Robert looked at us with a curious face. " And why is Snow wearing that?" Helen stopped hiding.

"We were just going to check the prizes for the raffle and see if they're all there." I looked at Zen.

"We just checked it a few minutes ago but feel free to check again." Robert pointed at Helen.

"Oh." Zen blocked Helen a bit more. "Snow isn't that confident with how she's looking right now because she was crying a lot because of you know."

"Right." Robert nodded. "I should get going, Ms. Liu is calling for me. By the way, you can watch backstage if you want."

"Maybe later." I smiled at Robert.

"Okay. See you there!" Robert walked past us. I sighed.

"Which way is it again?" I looked at Helen. She walked in front of me.

"So things are faster." Helen turned left. Zen and I followed behind her. We walked past several hallways to the right and several doors to the left. When we arrived at the end of the hallway, we turned right. I felt a shiver went through me. There were no doors on either side except for the one at the end. I don't like this. I tugged Zen's shirt. They looked at me confused. I shook my head and moved my eyes towards Helen.

"Are you sure this is the way?" Zen asked.

"Yes. I saw them bringing the albums this way." Helen said without skipping a beat. The lights started flickering. I glanced at the lights above us and one by one they turned off. Shit. I felt a hand grab my hand. Zen.

"Run!" Zen started running back to where we came from, pulling me with them. I could hear Helen staggering behind us. We suddenly bumped into an a metal wall. What the? Zen started punching and pushing the wall. They tricked us. I knew they couldn't be trusted. A shriek filled the air.

"Helen!" I ran into the darkness.

"Zen, Dos! Its them! Help!" I pushed forward. Red glowing eyes slowly appeared in front of me. Shit, there's so many of them. I have no choice then. I took off my bag and started jumping. I took a deep breath and charged at them. I kicked the first one I got near to and punched the one that followed. I felt something hit my back but quickly recovered. I closed my eyes and listened to the sound of the weapons swinging.

All that meditation and fight acting practice is paying off. I blocked the swing in front of me by hitting the back of the hand first. I quickly ducked, turned around, and punched the person.

"DOS! They're taking me away!" I heard Helen shout.

"Don't stop moving!" I heard Zen shout. I suddenly heard a grunt beside me.

"Thanks babe." I continued charging forward, kicking and punching my way through the enemies. I managed to block two attacks at once and pushed them back. I saw the back door open.

"Hurry! I'll keep them here." I pushed forward. I weaved through the enemies, focusing instead of dodging and blocking. When I was near enough, I catapulted myself towards the door using the enemies as my pivot. I flew out of the door and landed rolling on the ground. I stood up and saw that Helen was being carried away by a hooded person a few feet a ahead of me. They ran into the carnival games area. Shit. I ran as fast as I could, making sure not to lose my sight of Helen. When I finally reached the carnival games area, I quickly moved past the people walking around. I slapped my legs.

Faster! I pushed my legs to run faster. I saw them run into a closed attraction. I followed them. When I reached it, I stopped for a second to catch my breath.

Of course its the hall of mirrors. I ran inside. It was brightly lit despite the outside of it being completely dark. The mirrors instantly showed me the reflection of the hooded person carrying Helen. It looked like they were looking straight at me. They put Helen down and disappeared from the mirrors.

A blind spot. They really prepared for this. I slowly walked through the maze of mirrors watching, anticipating the hooded person's ambush. Their reflection appeared in the mirror in front of me. I turned around and punched. The mirror shattered with my punch, wounding my hand. I picked off the shards of glass that stuck to my hand.

Calm down . I took a deep breath and continued making my way around the maze. The hooded person appeared in front of me. I clenched my fist and charged. They block me with an X and retaliated with a punch towards my body. I dodge it and kicked their side. They were only able to partially block it and stumbled to the left a bit. I charged at them and spun to kick the same area but I crouched and swept their feet instead. They stumbled to the ground, clutching their body. I sighed. I walked past them, towards Helen. Suddenly, I couldn't move my body.

"Enough!" A voice boomed inside the room and shattered all the mirrors and lights. I felt a giant hand envelop itself around my body. I tried to move my body but to no avail.

"You know what to do." Through the moonlight shining in the room, I watched Helen stand up easily, perfectly fine. She put back the hood covering her head and smiled at me. Shit. I was right. I felt a shock go through my entire body and I passed out.
