Chapter 12: I'm a Judge???

Chapter 12: I'm a Judge???

After helping her, her friend suddenly called out, "daisy! The meeting is about to start—don't be late! We still have class after this!"

Charlotte spun around, frowning, and shook her friend gently. "Janice! Like I said, don't call me that in front of strangers! My name is Charlotte!" she said.

Her friend laughed and ruffled her hair. "Hahaha, your name, Charlotte, sounds too mature for you. You're way too cute—like a golden retriever. That's why I always call you that."

Charlotte felt her cheeks heat up as she noticed Cain still staring at her, his own face turning red. She quickly pressed the pile of papers against her friend's back and gently pushed her toward the hallway, trying to hide her blush.

"That's my first interaction with a real woman in this school. Mother, Father, thank you for bringing me into this world! I promise I'll get a job to repay you both!" he said, kneeling dramatically.

A group of students passed by and start making fun of him.

- "What is this weirdo doing? Seriously?"

- "…Wow, not just poor, but brain-dead too. What an Incredible talent."

- "Did you forget to eat? Or it's just your fetish to kneel?"

- "Why is he kneeling like that? Creepy."

He stood up, brushed the dirt off his PE pants, and walked away.

"Ahhh… she's so adorable… way cuter than that devil Eliza that rich brat won't be able to surpass her cuteness."

Then I paused after saying eliza, thinking about the riddle "The One with Ocean Eyes."

"Hmm… isn't ocean blue? Wait… if I think about it, Eliza has blue eyes too. But there are so many people with blue eyes in this school—some of them are foreigners, and they might be the ones using black cars as well."

As I stepped into the gymnasium, I noticed that im not the first one to arrived, my classmates from 205 was already sitting on the benches on one side, while class 206 was on the opposite side. Judging by their PE uniforms, it looked like they were also here for PE class.

"Oh… a joint class?" I muttered to myself.

One of the boys from the other class—also a foreigner and clearly as rich as the others—strode confidently toward Eliza.

"So… you're the girl from the opening ceremony. May I have your name, your majesty~?" he said, flashing a practiced, charming smile.

Cain froze mid-step. "Ohhh… what a charmer," he thought. "He's like a prince out of a novel… I have the urge to smash that face with my fist… damn lucky bastard. Not only is he rich, but he's got that annoyingly perfect face too. God really have favorites."

Eliza's expression remained composed, almost regal. She leaned slightly forward, her voice calm but sharp like always.

"Who are you, and by what right do you presume to address me? Step back. I do not engage with those who veil their intentions in flattery," she said smoothly, her bodyguards moving instantly to her sides and pushing the boy back without a word.

And muttered under his breath,

"Tssk... what a bitch"

Cain whispered under his breath, trying not to laugh, "Damn… rejected in an instant. Her father really did hire professional bodyguards—just as expected from a spoiled royal brat."

Suddenly, Eliza's piercing gaze swept over Cain. He froze. Her eyes narrowed slightly, and Cain panicked, snapping his head downward.

"Oh… my shoes are untied," he muttered nervously, even though he wasn't wearing a tie.

Just as she was about to walk toward Cain, the PE teacher arrived, blowing his whistle "Peeeeeew! Peeeeeew!" The high-pitched sound echoed through the gymnasium, and instantly getting everyone's attention.

"Quiet down and line up! Form groups of nine," he barked. "I'm Jorge Fidman, thirty-eight years old, and I'll be in charge of the PE classes for both grades two-oh-five and two-oh-six."

"Now… FORM!" he shouted, his voice booming over the whistle's fading echo.

Ten minutes later, four groups had already formed. Most of class 206 was still away at a meeting, leaving only Eliza and Cain behind, awkwardly standing near the edge of the gym.

In Cain's thoughts, while staring at the groups chatting with each other "No one dared approach Eliza—her sharp, narcissistic personality made everyone wary. One wrong move, and they'd find themselves on her bad side. As for me… well, it wasn't fear they had. They just didn't want anything to do with me because im poor."

"So… you two are the only ones left," Jorge said, scanning the gym. Then his eyes landed on Cain and Eliza, and a mischievous grin spread across his face. "How about you two act as judges for them? Especially… it would be an honor if it's Miss Eliza."

He turned to cain and added, "And you… you can also judge with Miss Eliza. Uh… what's your name?"

"I'm Cain Adams, sir," cain replied, trying to keep my voice steady.

The professor gestured toward a long row of chairs. "Alright, you two—take a seat here." Miss Eliza and cain sat down, each of them are holding a small set of numbered cards, from 1 to 10.

Jorge clapped his hands to get everyone's attention. "Okay! For your first class with me, each group will perform a talent show. Your performance will be judged by me, Miss Eliza… and our random student judge here," he said, pointing at cain. "You'll need to score at least 25 points to pass. Now, show me what you've got!"

Eliza glanced at Cain, her eyes narrowing as if sizing him up. With a sharp, almost imperious tone, she said, "Tsk… commoner. You again. By what absurd right do you presume to sit beside me as a judge for today's activity?"

- "What!? Why is that commoner sitting there with the professor and Miss Eliza?!"

- "Hey! Get out of there! You're too ugly to be sitting next to the princess!"

- "Hey, creep—if you lower our points, we'll hunt you down!"

- "Miss Eliza! If I win… please step on me!"

Jorge blew his whistle once more. "Peeeeew!"

"Silence! I'm giving you all twenty minutes to discuss with your group and decide what you're going to perform," he announced firmly. "And take note—the group with the lowest score will receive a punishment."

"first let's decide who is the leader to play rock, paper, scissors. Whoever loses goes first."

The four leaders quickly approached the opposing leader and formed a small circle. "Rock, paper, scissors—shoot!"

Their hands snapped forward at the same time, each one determined not to be the unlucky group that would have to perform first.

A few seconds later, groans filled the area.

"Alright! The order is decided!" someone shouted.

"First to perform is Group 4! Then Group 2! After that, Group 1! And last, Group 3!" The members of Group 4 immediately turned to their leader.

- "What kind of bad luck is this?!"

- "You call yourself a leader?!"

- "Man, we're doomed!"

- "Your breath stinks!"

- "Let me slap you for this!"

Their poor leader just stood there, sweating nervously.

Twenty minutes later… Jorge blew his whistle sharply. "PHEEEEEEW!"

"Twenty minutes have passed!" he announced loudly, his voice echoing across the gymnasium. "I now declare that the group talent show begins!!!"

The entire gym suddenly grew tense.

Some students were stretching.

Some were whispering last-minute plans.

Some were panicking.

And at the judges' table, Cain swallowed nervously.

"This is going to be chaos…"
