In the heart of the Throne Room in the 7th Heaven, where light was so pure it could not be looked upon directly, the Father spoke. His voice did not echo like sound, but resonated in the very fabric of all things, shaping thought and purpose as it moved.
“I have fashioned a new kind of being,” He said. “From the dust of the worlds and the breath of My own life, I have made Humans. They are young, fragile, and untested—vulnerable to harm and easily led astray. Therefore, I have set apart a sanctuary for them upon the Earth, a place of safety and abundance where they may grow and learn in peace. Among all My children, Lucifer—you who shine brightest, whose light reaches farthest, and whose charm draws all eyes—I assign you to watch over them. Treat them as your youngest siblings. Guide them, guard them, and care for them as you would your own kindred.”
Silence fell across the assembly of archangels. Every gaze turned toward Lucifer. His radiance dimmed just a fraction, the first shadow ever to touch his form. He stepped forward, wings held stiffly at his sides, his voice sharp with disbelief.
“Me?” he asked, the word ringing cold in the hall. “You would set me—the highest of the high, the first and greatest of the created—to be… a guardian? A caretaker? These new beings are soft, weak, and limited. They were made from dust. They should look upon my elegance and glory with wonder, not have me stooping down to tend to their every need. This is no duty—it is a demotion. You lower me to serve creatures who are lesser in every way.”
His words hummed with suppressed fury, and murmurs rippled through the gathered angels. But before more could be said, Michael stepped forward. As the Firstborn, the first Prince of Heaven, and the very embodiment of the Father’s will, his voice was steady and absolute.
“The Father’s orders are not given lightly,” he said, his tone firm but calm. “All duties are sacred. If He has entrusted this task to you, it is because He knows you are capable of it—and because these new lives are precious in His sight. We do not question His wisdom; we obey it.”
Lucifer turned on him, his eyes blazing. “Of course you agree,” he spat. “You are always the first to bow, the first to say ‘yes’ to anything He commands. You care more for rules than for what is right or fitting. But I am not like you. I was made to lead, to inspire, to create—not to play nursemaid to creatures barely able to stand.”
Michael did not flinch. “Obedience is not weakness,” he replied. “And duty is not shame. If you cannot see that, then you have forgotten what it means to be one of us.”
The audience ended soon after, and the archangels turned to leave the Throne Room. Lucifer moved beside Michael, lowering his voice, trying to sway him. “Brother, listen to me,” he urged. “Think of what this means. If He can do this to me—reduce the brightest light to watching over dust—what will He do to you next? To any of us? We were meant to reign, not serve.”
But Michael shook his head, his expression unyielding. “This matter is settled,” he said, and walked away without another word.
Rejected and burning with rage, Lucifer retreated. The anger inside him grew heavy and dark, settling deep in his heart. He gathered around him Azazel—his closest brother, the one who had always stood by his side—and a host of other angels who shared his discontent. Together, they slipped down from the heights of Heaven and descended toward the sanctuary of Earth.
At first, they appeared before the Humans in all their beauty and splendor, drawing the young beings into awe. But slowly, Lucifer and his companions began to do more than watch—they began to meddle. They showed them how to shape metals and build great structures, shared knowledge of the stars and hidden laws of the world, and whispered thoughts of power, independence, and self-rule. They taught them things they were never meant to know, secrets that belonged only to the divine, sowing seeds of curiosity and ambition that would grow far beyond their innocence.
High above, at the gates of Heaven, a watchful angel looked down upon the Earth and saw everything unfolding. He hurried back to the Throne Room, his wings beating fast with alarm, and reported exactly what Lucifer and the others were doing—how they were revealing forbidden knowledge and leading the Humans down a dangerous path.
But the Father remained silent.
In the Throne Room at that very moment stood Michael, Uriel, Gabriel, and Zadkiel—four of the greatest archangels, waiting to receive new guidance. When the messenger spoke, all eyes turned toward the Father. He did not move, nor did He speak; His light was steady, unshaken, as if nothing wrong was happening at all.
Michael looked down through the realms, his vision piercing the distance until he saw Lucifer walking among the Humans, teaching them things that should never be spoken to mortal ears. He saw Azazel showing them the making of weapons and enchantments. He saw the wonder in the Humans’ eyes turning into longing and pride.
He turned back to the Father, his voice tight with rising emotion. “Do You know of this?” he asked.
Still there was silence. No word, no command, no correction.
A sudden, sharp anger flared within Michael—not against his Father, but against the injustice of it all. “You knew,” he said, his voice low and intense, “and You said nothing. You let it happen. You let him break Your law, corrupt Your children, and unravel the very order You established… and You remained silent.”
The air in the Throne Room grew heavy, charged with tension. Michael turned from the presence of the Father, his face set like stone, his resolve absolute. He raised his voice so that it rang through every corner of Heaven, clear and commanding.
“Send word to the Host,” he ordered. “Every angel upon the Earth who has joined Lucifer in this corruption is to be taken into custody. Seize them. Bring them back. No one is to resist, and none shall escape. We end this—now.”
