Selena was saved from being hounded by the others. Chase, not so much. Since their very public performance two days ago, she saw the alpha being hounded by panicking elders. Poor guy looked like he was about to explode from how dark his glare was. She'll try talking with him again once he's in a better mood.
She's not, however, a hundred percent free from the backlash of their performance, as she's currently sitting on a wide branch in the woods behind Elder Tharen's mansion (It still feels a bit awkward calling the huge house a home), after she saw a silhouette that looked suspiciously like Melissa. Olivia also had been shrieking a lot lately. Probably best for her to stay away from everyone as much as she can.
"Guess this means it's an alternate canon from now on?" she mused to herself. How much of the novel's plot had she inevitably changed since she first came here? She hasn't really thought much about following the canon's series of events in the first place. She'll have to make sure to be more alert from now on. As long as she didn't know who to trust here, she couldn't let herself be vulnerable like what happened to Chase.
"No, that's not right…" Selena murmured as she sat up. She tried to change things earlier, didn't she? And for a while, it looked like it did. But then everything returned to the original story.
Also, wasn't there a little girl..?
"I wonder who that girl was?"
In the void, everything remained constant. Controlled. Expected.
When the blip happened, it was like a mini firework burst through the dark. Alone, yet still visible. She couldn't have missed it even if she tried.
"Hmmm." She straightened from her seat a bit, but made no move to stand. She smiled.
"Interesting. Challenge accepted."
