CHAPTER 4: THE FIRST STAGE OF GRIEF.

1.

Denial, the first stage of grief. Is what the people involved do. Is what Ezra and Zeddy do to these types of situations. If they are innocent, why would they have to deny? So that the situation won’t worsen. Contacting a random stranger that lives in the town (probably) is very difficult, especially when that stranger doesn’t want to talk to you anymore. LEO LEO 333.

“Who is LEO LEO 333?” Mr. Son asked Ezra with curiosity.
“I don’t know him. He is just a weird guy who had a weird obsession with inappropriate stuff and gores.” Ezra answered, “I haven’t met him ever since. And I don’t know him personally. He is the true suspect.”

“I blocked him, reported him, and forgot to get those videos and pictures out of my innocent mind.” Ezra continued, “those videos… are beyond disgusting as you would expect.”

That LEO LEO guy has been sending him inappropriate videos and images. Just like that one video showing a guy who was tied up onto its hand and was jumping rapidly, looking like that one creepy thing called Ayuwoki moving. That video became her own leech.

“I do not personally know that guy, and I may tell you that he specifically sent the pic to me first, making me pass the picture to Zeddy, and making him send the pic to the group chat. Making the pic famous as it spreads outside the group.” She said to him,
“I unblocked him earlier that night, and told him about the things that were happening to my reputation. And let me guess what he said... he said that the pic is edited by him, and it should be obvious to us that the pic is edited because of the font’s difference.” She said while showing the unedited raw pic to Mr. Son.

So, Ezra blocked LEO and proceeded to delete their convos because of image reasons. Well... That reason is valid because who even likes to watch gore anyway?

Ezra went out of the faculty room—the same room where they both talk. And proceeded to go to her classroom—Grade 11 West. She went to take a nap.

2.

Lax had finally enrolled. He was assigned to enter the room called Grade 11 West—the same room where Ezra was also assigned. That means they are now classmates.

The undead in disguise went to a school’s campus for the first time, and all eyes went to him, especially the teacher's eyes. Some students smiled at his sense of fashion, and some looked mad and disgusted at his sense of fashion.

He said to himself as he walked through the hallway.
“The longer they become mad, the longer I become happy. They are risking their own lives by just hating me.”

As he went to his own locker, the campus’ bell then began to ring, alerting all students that the class had finally started. Making them run through their assigned classrooms or else they’re going to get the loitering punishment.

Lax went along through the runs and screams until he went to his assigned classroom West. As he opened the door, he was surprised to see everyone, especially his substitute teacher, already in the room. He was the only late student.

He ignored the chilling gaze of students, and proceeded to sit on the blank chair beside Ezra’s. Before he could sit onto his own new personal chair, his sub teacher stopped him—Sir Z. stopped him, because he needed to introduce himself. So Lax stood up from the chair, and went to introduce himself.
“Good afternoon teachers, good afternoon classmates. I am Lax, and I am new to this school. It’s my first day this semester. And I hope we can get along.” He said to the crowd. “If you all have questions about me, you can ask me about it.”

As he said that random phrase, one student raised their hand, It’s Zeddy. Looking more curious than usual. He asked him.
“Why do you need to use a beanie-cut mask? Everyone on this campus is very respectful, especially to someone who is insecure to themselves.” This makes Lax reply to.
“I got a really big scar from an accident. A tree fell onto my head during a road trip. And now, I decided to myself that I am just going to use this mask forever.” Showing Lax’ story inspired almost everyone in the room, making him respected, and also making his plan of being the most hated fail miserably.

Well, what could he do with that situation? Do nothing or live with it? Luxas- I mean, Lax, chose to live with it. He had no choice. And he also has to gather more information of how they describe the undead and something about Rus’ identity.

3.

As Lax sat in his own chair, the teacher introduced himself. He is Mister Z, or you can say Sir Zed, but he prefers Mr./Mister Z for his students to call him. He is their Mathematics substitute teacher by the way. And how the students describe his grading system is unique, because, after Mr. Z got out of the classroom, all of his classmates then began to talk shit about that sir and how he gave such tiny grades to students.

Everyone talked shit except Ezra, who is just drawing something about the issue. So Lax approached her for the first time, and then, he asked her.
“Hello, what are you drawing?” Ezra looked at him, and proceeded to answer his random but expected question.
“I think this might be familiar… the controversy? The fight against Me and Zeddy?” She continued. “That fight is intense, and I am trying to save myself from it, or else my reputation will be…destroyed.” This makes Lax understand the controversy, and why everybody in the class began to ignore her and Zeddy.

As the time ran, I decided to open a new conversation with Ezra, talking about the Mr. Z problem. I asked her.
“Why is everybody talking about Mr. Z suddenly? This question might be a little bit personal, but did Mr. Z also give you a lower grade? And if Mr. Z has favoritism, what are his favorites in your own personal perspective?” Ezra then looked at him again, and proceeded to reply to his question.
“Yesterday was our card day. I got 89 above on every subject except mathematics. I got 73 on mathematics for SOME reason. I asked everyone, especially my best friend Zeddy, about their score, and yes, they also got 70-74 grades on math, except Trick, Mosa, and Azul.” This makes Lax speechless. And mind you, that thing was her substitute for three quarters straight.

The bell went off, and everybody got out of their classrooms. The time was 4:00p.m. which means, the class for the day has been dismissed. Ezra, Lax, and Zeddy started talking about their pasts, presents, and future—so that one can understand the other.

Zeddy said to Lax first (to start a conversation)
“So Lax… Have I ever seen you before? Or you just moved to the town of Compri?” That question made Lax choke on his own saliva. He thought that Zeddy knew his identity, but no.
“Yeah. I just moved to this town, and I am very astonished by how beautiful the town’s structure is… and, is anyone in this town respectful that much?” He wanted to know if it is impossible for him to kill due to the citizens’ “kind attitude” which prevented him from killing anybody morally. Zeddy answered.
“Oh like- the thing I just said earlier? Well… I can say that it is ¾ true because Azul, Mosa, and Trick exist in our classroom. You know.” He continued. “And also… I overheard Mosa talking shit about your mask, and I think they’re just jealous. And- Oh look! There’s my brother.” Zeddy’s brother who came to the school to take him home has finally arrived. So Zeddy said his final word for the day to his dear fellow friends.
“Well… to the house I go to! I guess.” He continued. “Well… bye bye Lax, Ezra!!! See you all tomorrow!” then went to his brother’s vehicle.
As Zeddy left the school’s land, Ezra decided to tell him an update regarding the controversy. She said to him,
“Tomorrow, Me, Azul, and Mosa will enter the guidance office—the office where Mrs. Roma sat. Me and those people will have an ultimate confrontation, It’s like a court trial. And by the way, if I lose the confrontation, I will be suspended for doing such Major Offence which is bullying, and worse, my reputation will be destroyed. So… good luck to me!” She continued. “And I have to go now. BYE!!” Then she left the scene. Leaving Lax alone in the dark.

“Well… tomorrow is another day. Literally. And well… Ezra will win the court. I trust my thoughts.” He whispered to himself as he secretly walked towards his wrecked home full of weird things.
