Fate…

Author: S.Kaine

Mayo just wanted one more gap year. Another year to spend in Thatnmoor. Cloud gazing, sun bathing, smoking nvia and lazily chewing on ice. Marx wanted to conquer Strathenberg. Kidnapped and dragged to Strathenberg, a prestigious supernatural academy crawling with resentful vampires, two faced humans, overbearing werewolves, witches and wizards who claimed to be neutral, Marx decided they’d conquer Strathenberg, together. Mayo is a young man who’d rather be alone—and a sleep. His goal was clear: fail school, get expelled and return home. Marx or no Marx. It can’t be that difficult, when they’re already months behind on their studies? Marx a young Northern wolf, and future alpha of Thatnmoor brought his unwilling chosen beta here aiming to get stronger, create a name for himself, and if the goddess grants it meet the Daegon. Though his mother would prefer a mate, he had priorities. Instead, Mayo collapses upon setting foot on school grounds. Marx is forced to navigate Strathenberg alone: training under a ruthless vampire, his own kind questioning his intentions, all under the watchful gaze of the Daegon’s second. An ancient, soul crippling magic permeates the woods, slowly corroding the earth and the life it nurtures. As dangerous curses run amok and rival vampire kingdoms, separated by boarders of blood edge closer to war, Mayo realizes that his past, present and future will inevitably collide. Strange runes whisper to him, magic carries a scent only he seems to notice, and a wolf’s gentle voice murmurs a single impossible word. Mate. Fate, an ugly thick skinned, cruel mistress. One of the many actively rebelling against his sedentary life style. A pathetic one, Marx would remark. He didn’t ask for his opinion. Or any of this… But sleep and solitude in Strathenberg, weren’t a reward reaped by even the dead.
