Transcendent (Divergent Rewritten)

"I bit my cheek harder and dragged the blade down. I didn't feel. I didn't care. Then, with a gasp I couldn't contain, I stepped forward and opened my fist, and my blood trickled into the glass tiles." Sixteen-year-old Beatrice Prior has always dreaded her aptitude test—a single, mysterious test guaranteed to sort her into one of five factions, based on her truest self. But Beatrice doesn't know her truest self. And, so it seems, neither does the aptitude test. Instead, Beatrice's test proctor deletes the test and lies about her results, allegedly to protect her. But...protect her from what? Amidst the stress of faction initiation, the rising resistance in the factionless projects, and the cold case mystery of the missing Abigail Eaton, Beatrice must discover for herself who — or what — she really is. In this critically-acclaimed (yes, really!) rewrite of Divergent by Veronica Roth, Ceric Liu transforms the faction system as never been seen before—featuring deeper explorations of Candor, symbolic criticisms of systematic inequality, and Tris being the sassy bisexual she was always meant to be.
